Our People
Thomas A. Carlson, CPA
Thomas Carlson started this company in 2001, and he has overseen a company that has grown significantly over the past 18 years. Tom provides tax, accounting, and various consulting services to clients throughout Placer and Sacramento counties. He is a member of the AICPA, the Downtown Roseville Partnership, and the Roseville Chamber of Commerce. Tom also teaches accounting at American River College. He and his wife have three children and live in Roseville. Tom enjoys family activities which include community service, Scouts, trivia, Giants baseball, hiking, and running with his dog, Rocky. He is on the Board of Directors of The Gathering Inn and is involved in other local charities.
My job as a CPA is to be the very best advocate for my clients and to look out for their best interests. I take time and consideration to look at each situation from my client’s perspective, to learn their expectations, and I enjoy finding every opportunity to give them the tax benefit they deserve. I feel strongly that trust is the foundation of a successful professional relationship, and along with my specialized tax knowledge and 30 years of experience, I take pride to deliver excellent service to every person who comes into our office.
Tom received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration: Accounting, California State University, Chico.
Darlene Carlson, Accountant & Notary Public
Darlene Carlson has been working with Carlson Tax Consultants since 2001. Previously, she worked as an Accountant at Recology in San Francisco, and as CFO at Miyamoto International, Inc. in Sacramento. She also taught elementary and middle school for fifteen years.
I look forward to empowering our clients at CTC as they partner with us to make those necessary life choices that involve money and taxes. I hope you feel welcomed at CTC and know that we are working to give you the best financial options for you, your family, and your business.
She and her husband, Tom, have three children, Emma, Kevin, and John. Family time, reading, and retreat ministry are her passions.
Darlene has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration: Finance, California State University, Chico, as well as a California State Teaching Credential.
Penny Snider, Administrative Assistant
Penny began working for Carlson Tax Consultants in January 2016 after retiring from the State of California with over 30 years of service. During her years with the state, she held numerous jobs and positions, and she found working with people and providing customer service were the most rewarding. Penny enjoys the interaction with our CTC clients and strives to provide each of them with professional service.
